Real estate offices across the world comprise of one or more brokers, along with a host of agents who do the basic field job of acquiring clients. Certain offices also have consultants employed, who help the buyers and sellers meet, discuss the probability of sale and purchase, does the negotiations, carries out the legalities and help the brokers make strategies.

However, in all cases, the presence of a broker in a real estate company is a must. Whether it is an individual ownership or a corporation, the presence of a broker is inevitable. A broker must also have a license from the government of the state he is working in.

Some real estate offices have branches in different cities. According to the law, these branches should also have a licensed full-time broker working as a head of the organization.

Another thing that is most common among the functionalities of real estate offices across the globe is that all the offices have a sign displaying the name of the company and the broker, under the banner of “Licensed Real Estate Broker.”

The advertising and marketing of the real estate companies are guided by the laws of the state government in which the company is set up. Brokerage offices, brokers and agents can lose their license or face heavy fines for not following these rules.

The Real Estate Commission also plays an important role in the functioning of the real estate offices. The Real Estate Commission comes under the state, which is not the same in every state. The public can take recourse against the broker with the Real Estate Commission.

Types of Real Estate Offices:

There are many types of real estate office across the globe, some of which are listed below:

  • A full-service office that has its own inventory of listings.
  • Another type of real estate office gives its field agents a desk to work from, from where he/she manages all the advertising and pays for it himself. The broker then charges a much higher commission split from the agent.
  • In some other companies, brokers may list the properties in the listings, but the seller has to do their own showings.
  • Some other companies do just the paperwork after the salle has been done.
  • Some companies provide multiple services like packing and moving, home décor, maintenance services etc to make bigger impact and profits.

Real estate offices are multiplying rapidly across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities among nations, as the demand for property is constantly is on the rise.
